The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health is a HIMSS Stage 7 hospital with fully integrated electronic medical health records. These present a highly informative resource for applied predictive analytics using electronic health chart data and in conjunction with research datasets. Utilizing state of the art hardware and machine learning approaches, the project under the Krembil Centre for Neuroinformatics, aims to develop robust predictive analytics capabilities for the hospital towards evaluating critical outcomes and patient trajectories. Datasets include pharmacology, socio-demographic, metabolomics, and unstructured physician notes. This is a challenging, yet rewarding area of bioinformatics, poised to develop future medical informatics systems to better health care worldwide.
