Please note that Friday, September 14th is the last day to add classes for Fall 2018. Permission to add late is not guaranteed as the policy states that permission will only be granted in exceptional circumstances (illness or compassionate grounds for missing all or part of the first three class days; interchanging courses with common lectures, one with and one without labs; late resolution of appeals; failure of a deferred course condition or examination; university errors in registration procedures), so please make sure you have all of your courses added by Friday.
Courses are filling up quickly so if you are struggling finding sections that work, please contact our office by contacting Melinda (ext 54549, firstname.lastname@example.org). Please note that most courses will not open new spaces on WebAdvisor, so please contact me asap. While you wait to hear from me, I also encourage you to keep checking on WebAdvisor in case there are spaces that become available. The schedules are in flux right now so you may find a section that works an hour after there were none!
The restriction on most first year courses will be removed July 17th at 8am. First years, this means spots will start to go very quickly! Upper years, the same for you; if you want a spot in a first year course, make sure you login on the 17th.
In order to remove the restrictions on first year courses, WebAdvisor needs to close. It will be closed as of 8am on July 16th and re-open July 17th at 8am.
Some courses have rolling enrollment. This means they are slowly releasing spots. This is true for most first year courses and a select number of upper years courses.
Some first-year sections have been temporarily restricted to students who have 4.50 or less credits (completed, in progress, or pre-selected). Students who have more than 4.50 credits (completed, in progress, or pre-selected) who wish to enrol in a first-year course that is restricted, may be able to do so beginning at 8 AM on Tuesday, July 17 when most restrictions will be removed.
Here are some important things to note when looking at course selection for Fall 2018:
- MBG 4020 and POPM 4230 continue to be in direct conflict. The solution is to have students select both with an understanding that Andy will ensure you do not need to attend lecture for MBG 4020.
- CROP 4240 (Weed Science) changed its lab time to Monday at 2:30pm. Confirm you have the new time when confirming your schedule.
- HORT 4380 (Tropical and Sub-Tropical Plants) will move to being offered every other year. It will be offered this Fall, then not again until Fall 2020.
Course selection for current students will open June 18th. Windows were emailed to students and are noted on WebAdvisor. Course selection will remain open until September 14th, 2018.
Updates for Summer:
The Add Period for the Summer semester will run from April 30th to May 18th (May 14th for 6-week courses). The exam schedule will be posted for Summer exams on April 27th.
Updates for Fall:
Course selection for Fall 2018 will begin June 18th. Selection will open in windows (so you might not select on the 18th). Windows for selection will be emailed to you in May. The Fall schedule is posted on WebAdvisor now, so you can build your schedule and ask questions before you leave campus.
Recall that course selection for the Fall semester will begin in June. The schedule will be posted in WebAdvisor next week. Please review it for options for the Fall and select sections to put in your Preferred Section in anticipation of registration in June.
If you have questions about course selection, you are welcome to come to a drop in time to have a discussion.
