If a class or section you would like to take in the Winter semester is full, you can contact the instructor of the class to see if they are willing to overload the section you would like to take. There are many reasons why this might not be possible (not enough room in the lecture hall, not enough lab benches in a lab section, not enough resources for all students etc.), but if you do not ask, you do not give the instructor an opportunity to say yes.
As a reminder, I am available for appointments and drop ins during course selection. If you would like to sit down with me for an appointment please come to Johnston Hall 133A and sign up for a 15 minute time slot on the sheets provided. I ask that you only have one sign up time during this course selection period so others can have a chance to sign up as well. Please note that you must book your appointment time before we close the day before the appointment. No same day appointments will be booked unless it is an emergency.
Just a quick reminder that if you are thinking about going on exchange in S16, F16 or W17 that I have arranged for a B.Sc.(Agr.) specific session with the Centre for International Programs (CIP), so please join me and CIP on Thursday, October 22nd at 11:30am in UC 441 (please note the room change!). If you cannot make this session, you can attend one of the other CIP sessions (http://www.uoguelph.ca/cip/).
For those of you who are going to complete your courses in December, you need to apply to graduate by October 23rd, 2015 to avoid a late penalty. You would have already received an email from the Registrar’s Office with instructions if you will complete 20.00 credits this semester. Please refer to the information on the graduation webpage for more information about the process (under "Current Students", select "Graduation" on the right hand side).
Some departments will be releasing spots daily in their courses for a bit to ensure there are spots in all labs/sections each day (it helps them spread out everyone among the available labs/seminars and hopes to have the same labs/seminars available to all students no matter which day they select on). Spots should be opened each morning for the next little while, likely around 9:00am.
As a reminder, the University is closed Monday, October 12th for Thanksgiving. Tuesday, October 13th is a study break day and there are no classes. Classes missed on October 12th will be held on Friday, December 4th. Classes missed on October 13th will be held on Thursday, December 3rd.
