Accounting alumna earns a spot on CPA Canada’s CFE honour roll

Accounting alumna Camille Gardiner (BComm '16) has been placed on the CPA Canada’s prestigious honour roll for the Common Final Examination (CFE). The examination is a part of the qualifying process to become a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA).

Gardiner is one of 69 CFE candidates to be listed on the honour roll, out of 5,581 who passed the exam.  She is currently working as a Senior Associate in Assurance for PwC LLP in Waterloo, ON.

“Passing the CFE is a huge step for any aspiring CPAs. For me, being placed on their honour roll was the cherry on top. I am so grateful,” said Gardiner. “Between the outstanding professors, the supportive peer groups and the accounting co-op program, a big part of my success can be traced directly back to my time at the University of Guelph. I would recommend the program to anyone interested in pursuing accounting.”

The CFE is a three-day examination written in September that requires candidates to demonstrate their knowledge and competency in accordance to CPA guidelines. The evaluation also assesses technical competencies, professional skills, and professional judgment. Individuals usually start preparing for the examination after completing the CPA certification program.

The exam is one of the three components of the CPA qualification program. Only those individuals who complete all three areas successfully are permitted to use the designation of Chartered Professional Accountant.
