March 31: Students and alumni to be recognized by Ontario Hostelry Institute April 23

OHI top 30 under 30 logoSix students and alumni from the School of Hospitality, Food and Tourism Management, and Executive Programs, will be recognized by the Ontario Hostelry Institute (OHI) on April 23. They are part of the Institute's "Top 30 Under 30" list that celebrates the hospitality and foodservice industry’s top young professionals in all sectors. Since starting the list in 2006, OHI has included 38 alumni and students from U of G.

This year's honourees from the University of Guelph are:

  • Rebecca Gordon, Bachelor of Commerce: Hotel and Food Administration (2016 graduation)
    Recognized for: Student Leadership
  • Michaela Hewitt (nee Boehm), MBA - Hospitality (2015 graduation)
    Recognized for: General Manager, Mildred’s Temple Kitchen
  • Emma Kamp, Guelph Alumna (2012)
    Recognized for: Assistant GM, Bread Bar (Guelph)
  • Emily Newton-Przulj, Guelph Alumna (2008)
    Recognized for: Executive Meeting Manager, The Fairmont Royal York
  • Sarah Russell, Guelph Alumna (2009)
    Recognized for: Meeting and Event Manager, Westin Harbour Castle Hotel, Toronto
  • Michelle Siman, Guelph Alumna (2011)
    Recognized for: New Product Introductions Specialist, Tim Hortons
