Over the holidays, it was with sadness that we learned of the passing of local entrepreneur and U of G donor John F. Wood. He passed away on December 25th, 2018 surrounded by his loving family in Guelph, Ontario.

John enjoyed a successful business career that spanned more than five decades, including senior leadership roles in real estate development and appliance manufacturing. He was a strong supporter of business education and a generous philanthropist. 

"John was a remarkable man with an inspiring passion for both business and his community," said dean Julia Christensen Hughes. "His legacy will help develop future entrepreneurs through the John F. Wood Centre for Business and Student Enterprise. We are forever grateful for his confidence in us and for his encouragement and support."

The College of Business and Economics extends their deepest condolences to the Wood family and friends.
