Dr. Jerome Dempsey [1], professor emeritus in the Department of Population Health Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and director of the John Rankin Laboratory of Pulmonary Medicine, will be presenting several lectures as part of the Department of Human Health and Nutritional Sciences' Seminar Speaker Series.
Lectures will be held Oct. 19, 20, 23-25 between 10:20 a.m. and 12 p.m. and will be delivered both in-person and over zoom.
- Lecture 1 and 2: Basic respiratory physiology principles/Response to exercise in healthy young untrained
- Lecture 3: Respiratory system adaptations/limitations in the highly trained: Demand vs. capacity
- Lecture 4: Effects of aging and cardio-respiratory diseases
- Lecture 5: Human adaptations/maladaptations to hypoxia
