Encryption

Full disk encryption to secure personal computers, laptops or portable storage devices which store sensitive data.

Firewall Security

A firewall is an additional security control to prevent unauthorized access to computing resources and data that are hosted on a server.

Security Awareness

The Security Awareness service is provided by the Information Security team as part of maturing the Information Security roadmap at the University. The team is available to provide security awareness training for groups on campus as required.

This is offered as a free service available to any department on campus and awareness training can be provided in many different formats:

  • In-person training
  • Online training
  • Awareness tips for Faculty, Staff, and Students
  • Updates and articles on relevant security topics

Security Consulting

The Security Consulting service is provided by the Information Security team as part of maturing the Information Security roadmap at the University. The service is available to assist individuals and departments on campus with security related questions and concerns. A member of the Information Security team can help answer your questions, make security recommendations based on best-practices or applicable standards, or assist with security requirements gathering or security policies.

Security Risk Assessment (SRA)

The Security Risk Assessment (SRA) service is provided by the Information Security team as part of maturing the Information Security roadmap at the University. The SRA service is available to assist departments on campus in the evaluation of new solution deployments, vendors, research projects, data sharing projects, standards compliance, and application/service deployments from a security and risk perspective.

Security Vulnerability Assessment (SVA)

The Security Vulnerability Assessment (SVA) service is provided by the Information Security team as part of our Systems Assurance mandate and maturing the Information Security roadmap at the University. The SVA service is a tool to assist system administrators, discovering network-attached devices, new services, and exposures that system administrators and management need to be aware of.
