Digital Accessibility Resource Centre (DARC)

The Digital Accessibility Resource Centre provides training, tools, and support for the creation of accessible digital content, including:

  • web content
  • PDFs/Word documents
  • presentation slides/PowerPoint decks
  • video
  • audio
  • other multimedia 

Service details

This service aims to help U of G digital content producers understand and comply with the U of G policies when creating online materials, to ensure they are in line with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).

The Digital Accessibility Support Centre: 

  • Documents/communicates U of G decisions and policies regarding AODA web/digital compliance strategies 
  • Provides ongoing education, tools, training, and support for content producers and website administrators, including:
    • training sessions
    • email and in-person consultations
    • SiteImprove access
  • Conducts several yearly, random AODA compliance audits for U of G websites and communicates results to website owners. 

This service is centrally funded and there is no cost to users.
