Mac Mail Configuration

Mac Mail Configuration Options:

 

Mac Mail Exchange Setup

  1. Begin by launching the mac Mail App. Visualization of the Mail icon being selected from the dock.
  2. On the menu bar at the top of the screen, go to "Mail" then click "Accounts". If you have not configured an account in Mail you will be prompted to add an account. Visualization of the location of the Mail Accounts button.
  3. On the new window that has appeared, click "Exchange", then do the following:
    1. Enter your name under "Name".
    2. Enter your email address (yourID@uoguelph.ca) under "Email Address".
    3. Click "Sign In". Visualization of completed Name, Email Address, and Password.fields and the location of the Sign In button.
  4. If a popup window appears saying "Internet Accounts can't verify the identity of the server "autodiscover.uoguelph.ca", click "Continue". Then enter the following:
    1. Enter your email under (yourID@uoguelph.ca) "Email Address".
    2. Skip the "User Name" category.
    3. Enter your password (central ID password) under "Password".
    4. Enter "outlook.office365.com" under "Internal URL".
    5. Enter "outlook.office365.com" under "External URL". Visualization of the verification window and the location of the Continue button.
  5. Ensure that Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Reminders and Notes are checked, then click "Done". Then close this window once the account has been added. Visualization of the Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Reminders, and Notes applications being selected and the location of the Done button.
  6. Go to "Mail" on the menu bar, then click "Preferences". On the window that pops up, click "Accounts" and under the "Trash" section select "Never" in the menu. Visualization of the location of the Mail Accounts button. Mac Mail IMAP Setup

  1. Begin by launching the mac Mail App. Visualization of clicking the Mail icon from the dock.
  2. On the menu bar at the top of the screen, go to "Mail" then click "Accounts". If you have not configured an account in Mail you will be prompted to add an account. Visualization of the location of the Mail Accounts button.
  3. At the bottom of the window, click the "+" button, then select "Other Mail Account...", then click "Continue". Visualization of the Other Mail Account button and the Continue button.
  4. Enter the following:
    1. Enter your email address (yourID@uoguelph.ca) under "Email Address".
    2. Skip the "User Name" category.
    3. Enter your password (central ID password) under "Password".
    4. Select "IMAP" under "Account Type".
    5. Enter "Outlook.office365.com" under "Incoming Mail Server".
    6. Enter "Outlook.office365.com" under "Outgoing Mail Server". 
    7. Click "Sign In". Visualization of the Email Address, User Name, Password, Account Type, Incoming Mail Server, and Outgoing Mail Server fields and the location of the Sign In button.
  5. Ensure that "Mail" and "Notes" are selected, then click "Done". Visualization of the Mail and Notes applications being selected and the location of the Done button.
