The Central File Service (CFS) [10] provides access to a secure robust file storage area on campus for the use and protection of departmental and project files. Utilizing the windows domain on campus authorized computers, members of a department have secure group access to files, printers and group policy.
The Central File Service utilizes Windows Domain based permissions to allow secure collaboration and storage of departmental data. Files stored on CFS can also be accessed remotely via VPN [11] and users are able to manage their personal storage area. The file storage area resides on a robust centrally managed storage unit and provides automated daily backup. Offsite backup is also available through this service.
Each department is provided up to 500 GB storage at no charge. Additional storage is $675.00/ 500GB per year, including offsite backup.
The required Active Directory services are available to all departments on campus at no charge.
