Personal Security
It is important that you take preventative steps to protect your computer from viruses, hackers and spam.
You can greatly reduce these threats by following 3 simple steps which every computer owner connected to the internet should take:
- Update and patch your system.
- Install anti-virus software and keep it current (McAfee is available at no cost to the U of G community!).
- Use a firewall.
For added protection, the Protect your PC Guide provides an easy to follow guide on how to maintain your computer's security.
