Guelph Engineering Meet and Greet

Come join us in kicking off your O-Week the Guelph Engineering way! This event will include O-Week kit, but don’t worry if you forgot to buy one – we’ll be selling more here too, as well as Guelph Engineering merch. It’ll also be a time for you (our Little Buddies) to meet each other and join into groups with our upper year students (known as Big Buddies). Following O-Week kit pickup and Big Buddy/Little Buddy group formation, we will march our banner from the Albert A.

Engineering Society Club Fair

Want to get involved in some cool engineering related clubs and extracurriculars? Come out and explore all the amazing opportunities that the Guelph Engineering department has to offer and make your mark. Roam around the atrium in Thornbrough, visit as many club booths that interest you, talk to club representatives and look out for some free merch these clubs may have to offer. A great way to start your journey in engineering here at the University of Guelph. This is a free event.

(Paint and paint brushes provided, anything extra is BYO)  This is a free event.

Affordable Housing Zoning Laws with EWB Guelph

Come on out and meet the Engineers Without Borders team, and other new students, too! We will be building different housing models that will be put to the test! Join us to see how different ways of planning can impact urban livability. Maximize the number of residents in a plot of land with a given number of housing blocks, and the team with the greatest number of points based on density, and design wins! Learn about city planning with hands-on experimentation and productive discussions! This is a free event.

O-Week Coffee House

Dance! Act! Paint! Sing! Play! We want YOU to showcase your talent! Relax and enjoy the performances of your fellow engineers at the Bullring! Although engineers are encouraged to sign up, any Guelph student can perform as well! Performers will sign up using a Google Survey which can be found on the Engineering Society’s social media. Food and drinks will be for sale throughout the night! Email UofG’s Arts Officer (jwrigh34@uoguelph.ca) if you have any further questions! This is a free event.
