    The University of Guelph’s Communication and Marketing department is an interdisciplinary team with combined expertise in marketing and digital engagement, and strategic communications, including integrated and internal communications, and media and stakeholder communications.

    From building the reputation of the University of Guelph, to nurturing a strong sense of community on campus, the Communications and Marketing department works to reinforce the institution’s position as one of Canada’s leading comprehensive universities.

    Together, they help share the stories about the people, discoveries, achievements and events that define the University of Guelph.

    Strategic Communications and Media Relations

    The strategic communications team stewards communications for the university’s strategic initiatives and priorities, shaping compelling narratives that reflect U of G’s vision and impact. It collaborates across campus and with external partners to plan, develop, and deliver strategic communications that engage stakeholders, strengthen relationships, and advance institutional goals.

    The media relations team serves as U of G’s central hub for news and media relations, ensuring a coordinated and strategic approach to external storytelling. It identifies and shares the university’s compelling stories; manages media inquiries; and collaborates with internal stakeholders to provide accurate, timely, and transparent information.

    Marketing & Digital Engagement

    The Marketing and Digital Engagement team oversees the University’s paid, earned, and owned media, delivering services such as web development, social media strategy, creative and brand direction, and video production. Together they promote, support and protect U of G’s brand reputation internally, locally, nationally and internationally.

    Integrated & Internal Communications

    The Integrated and Internal Communications team drives institution-wide efforts that strengthen the university’s voice, advance strategic priorities, and foster a connected, engaged workplace culture. Through strategic partnerships across campus, the team develops clear, coordinated communications that support innovation, revenue growth, reputation, and employee engagement, which in turn directly enhances the student experience.
