Mary Granskou Appointed as the New Kinross Chair in Environmental Governance
CSAHS is delighted to announce the appointment of Mary Granskou as the third Kinross Chair in Environmental Governance. Mary will be on campus until December 31, 2018, carrying out a busy program of activities with a focus on the power of partnerships for environmental change. Mary will be leading seminars with expert speaker panels, guest lecturing in classes, assisting CSAHS graduate students and researchers with research issues, including outreach to her network of environmental connections, and providing general mentoring to students interested in careers concerning the environment and sustainability more broadly. She is located in the Geography, Environment and Geomatics Department in Hutt 126.
Mary has served nearly 30 years as an advisor and hands-on expert in the environment and sustainability fields. Former roles range from policy advisor in the Prime Minister’s office to executive director of a national environmental group. Now a consultant, she helps cross-sector partnerships navigate their way to success and is a big believer that there’s always a solution. She has decades of experience working with governments, Indigenous leaders, NGOs, industry, and scientists. Mary is honoured to serve as this Fall’s Kinross Chair in Environmental Governance and wants to engage with as many faculty and students as possible, so please feel free to contact her with ideas or questions at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Kinross Chair in Environmental Governance is funded through a generous endowment from the Kinross Gold Corporation.
