About

At the University of Guelph, we define experiential learning as a pedagogical practice whereby students gain new knowledge, skills and abilities by intentionally applying their classroom learning in a workplace or simulated workplace setting. Experiential learning opportunities are grounded in an intentional learning cycle with clearly defined learning outcomes. They engage students actively in creating knowledge and critically reflecting on their experiences, fostering a deeper understanding of how they can utilize what they have learned and the skills they have developed in future endeavours. Experience Profiles

  • Phoebe started off her university journey by signing up for an experiential first year seminar. She went on to do an Undergraduate Research Assistantship (URA), multiple project serve reading week programs and was a peer helper with the Wellness Education Centre. 

  • Bayli graduated from the University of Guelph with a degree in accounting. While she was here she engaged in multiple applied research projects, and worked as a teaching assistant, which helped her make important connections with people across campus.
