Certificate Programs

A Certificate Program allows you to develop specialized knowledge and skills through hands-on experience and calssroom learning, undertaken while completing your degree. The University of Guelph offers two for-credit experiential learning certificates:

  • The Certificate in Leadership provides you with the opportunity to develop an historical and theoretical understanding of leadership with emphasis on contemporary theories, models and research through 2.50 credits of coursework and 120 hours of leadership practice.
  • The Certificate in Civic Engagement and Global Citizenship is your opportunity to make deeper connections between academic coursework, volunteer engagement, and social issues. The 2.50 credits of coursework will give you a broad understanding of global issues and the 120 hours of required community engagement will help you see theory in action.
