Position Description:

The Department of Political Science at the University of Guelph seeks an applicant with research and teaching interests in the area of Law and Politics for a tenure-track probationary appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor. The Department would consider it an asset if the candidate had expertise in areas related to criminal justice policy, Indigenous law and politics, or international/ comparative law and courts. The Department of Political Science is a partner in the highly successful Criminal Justice and Public Policy program, one of the largest undergraduate programs in the university. It also participates in the graduate MA program in Criminology and Criminal Justice Policy. The successful candidate will be expected to teach Political Science courses that contribute to the Criminal Justice undergraduate and graduate programs, including courses on one or more of these topics: judicial process, rights and liberties, constitutionalism, or criminal justice policy.

Applicants should have a PhD or be ABD in Political Science, or an equivalent degree from a related discipline, and a strong record of teaching and scholarship appropriate to an entry-level tenure-stream position.
