Position Description:

The department of Marketing and Consumer Studies at the University of Guelph invites applications for a 2-year, contractually-limited position at the Assistant Professor level.

The Department of Marketing and Consumer Studies in the Gordon S. Lang School of Business and Economics at the University of Guelph invites applications from outstanding candidates with a commitment to student engagement and active learning, scholarship that makes a difference in the world, and community engagement for one contractually limited position at the rank of assistant professor. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in the area of business communications and previous experience in advising students and student-related activities. Interest or experience in teaching digital marketing and related courses will be a plus.

Applicants should have a Master’s, MBA or Ph.D. in Marketing or in a related field. This position will be responsible for teaching (at the undergraduate level), service (for example, advising regular and coop students in the department, managing students in undergraduate case competitions) and other related activities. The successful candidate will also be expected to manage and enhance our engagement with alumni and conduct research.

The Department of Marketing and Consumer Studies is located in the Gordon S. Lang School of Business at the University of Guelph. We offer two Bachelor of Commerce majors, one in Marketing Management and one in Real Estate and Housing. At the graduate level, we offer a Ph.D. in Management with a concentration in Marketing, a Master of Science in Marketing and Consumer Studies, and a Graduate Diploma in Market Research.

To be complete, applications must include a curriculum vitae, a discussion of the applicant’s teaching interests and philosophy, as well as relevant experience. Candidates short listed for campus visits will be asked to arrange for three letters of reference.
