Position Description:
The Department of Population Medicine, Ontario Veterinary College, at the University of Guelph invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level Qualitative Health Research Methods and Knowledge Synthesis.
Applicants will have a post-graduate degree, at the doctoral level (PhD or equivalent degree) in epidemiology, or a related field. A candidate with a DVM (or equivalent) is preferred. Applied teaching experience, and training in both qualitative research methods and knowledge synthesis (e.g. scoping reviews, systematic reviews & meta-analyses) is required.
The successful candidate will teach graduate courses in qualitative research methods and in knowledge synthesis (e.g. scoping reviews, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses) to PhD, MSc, and MPH students. They will have demonstrated productivity or strong potential in research related to epidemiology, public health, animal health management or a related and applicable field. The successful candidate will use their strong communications and collaboration skills to develop networks across broad communities of experts, effectively collaborating with faculty from multiple disciplines. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a productive independent and collaborative research program in an area of department emphasis such as health management, epidemiology, public health, or one health and to generate research funds to support graduate student training to the MSc, PhD, and/or DVSc levels.
