Position Description:
The Department of Population Medicine, Ontario Veterinary College at the University of Guelph invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in Epidemiology and One Health.
Applicants will have a post-graduate degree at the doctoral level (PhD, DVSc, or equivalent) in epidemiology, or a related field. A DVM or equivalent veterinary professional degree will be considered an asset. Applied teaching experience with graduate students in epidemiology and One Health concepts is required.
The successful candidate will contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching in epidemiology and in the MPH program. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in both applied and didactic teaching of One Health concepts and epidemiology. Experience with teaching distance education courses will be considered an asset. The successful candidate will participate in the development of new combined degree programs such as DVM-MPH. They will have demonstrated productivity or strong potential in research related to epidemiology, public health, animal health management or a related and applicable field. The successful candidate will use their strong communications and collaboration skills to develop networks across broad communities of experts, effectively collaborating with faculty from multiple disciplines. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a productive independent and collaborative research program in an area of department interest such as epidemiology, health management, or one health and to generate research funds to support graduate student training to the MSc, PhD and/or DVSc levels.
