Position Description:

The University of Guelph invites applications, nominations, and expressions of interest for the position of Associate Dean (Academic), Ontario Agricultural College.

The Associate Dean (Academic) (ADA) is a key member of the OAC senior leadership team and is responsible for leading and managing academic processes in OAC. The successful candidate will be a tenured faculty member at the University of Guelph and will have a knowledge of the strategic goals of OAC and the University of Guelph.

Major responsibilities of this position include:

  1. Undergraduate and diploma program development, revision, and review
  2. Chairing Undergraduate Program Committees and Subcommittees (Academic Review)
  3. Championing innovation and the ongoing development of undergraduate teaching and learning
  4. Promoting and ensuring academic integrity, including managing academic misconduct cases
  5. Student Support Operations Oversight, including Academic Program Counselling and related supervision
  6. Leading and supporting academic operations at Ridgetown Campus, including supervising the Assistant Dean (Academic), Ridgetown Campus
  7. Participating in OAC Operational and Strategic Committees and Working Groups, including oversight of internal quality assurance and cyclical program review
  8. Other activities, including representing OAC internally (in particular at CADA), acting on behalf of other Associate Deans, and acting as Dean, as required, including matters related to student support and success

The Associate Dean (Academic) position will be a 70% administrative appointment.

Applicants must have experience in academic management, especially in the leadership of curriculum development, and be committed to advancing teaching and learning and the strategic goals of OAC. Enthusiasm for student success, innovation, and collaborative leadership will be beneficial to the successful candidate alongside a detailed understanding of academic process and policy.
