Position Description:

A search has begun, internal to the university, for a new Chair, Dept. of Chemistry. The initial appointment will be for five years to begin February 1, 2021.

The Department of Chemistry includes 19 faculty members who are active in physical, theoretical, analytical, organic and inorganic chemistry. Graduate studies are carried out through the (GWC)2 partnership with the University of Waterloo, one of the largest, best recognized chemistry graduate programs in Canada. Undergraduate offerings cover a full range of programs, many with both regular and co-op streams. The Department is home of the new Electrochemical Technology Center, and the Molecular and Materials Synthesis Group.

The closing date and time for the receipt of applications for the position is 4:30 p.m. Friday, November 27, 2020. A complete application consists of (i) an updated curriculum vitae (ii) a candidate’s brief that highlights qualifications and experience (iii) a vision statement regarding the future of the disciplines and the department and (iv) the names of three referees who may be contacted in confidence by the Committee.
