Position Description:

The Department of Political Science at the University of Guelph invites applications for a two-year contractually-limited position at the Assistant Professor level.

The Department of Political Science is searching for a candidate who has research and teaching interests that support the Department’s contributions to our criminal justice and public policy programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The successful candidate will have teaching and research interests in at least two of the following: criminal justice policy and administration, law and politics, public policy and governance, and Canadian politics. The successful candidate will teach Political Science courses in the BA Criminal Justice and Public Policy (CJPP) and the Criminology and Criminal Justice Policy (CCJP) MA programs, which are offered in collaboration with the Department of Sociology and Anthropology. The candidate would also contribute to the broader Political Science program at both the undergraduate and graduate levels as well as our new BA in Justice and Legal Studies. It will be considered an asset if the candidate could teach Governing Criminal Justice (POLS*3300).

The successful candidate will have a PhD (or its equivalent) or ABD in Political Science or related discipline with a record of teaching and research commensurate with their experience.
