The Department of Family Relations and Applied Nutrition offers Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) undergraduate degrees in three focused disciplines:

1. Adult Development

  • The study of adult development and aging within the perspective of the family and society
  • Social policy towards administrative work in a adult/senior setting
  • Theory is complemented with a community placement in your third year

3. Child, Youth and Family 

  • Also available in Co-op
  • Interact with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers in our specially designed lab school or in a community setting with youth
  • Study the factors and changes that affect children and youth as individuals, and families as a whole
  • Two field placement courses give you hands-on experience
  • Careers in a variety of children's and youth services, human service/social service agencies
  • New research around the work/family balance through the Centre for Families, Work and Well-Being
