FARE faculty joined Dordt University, is now adjunct faculty

Richard Vyn, Associate Professor and FARE faculty member at UofG’s Ridgetown campus has joined Dordt University as Associate Professor of Agriculture. Richard completed his PhD under the co-supervision of Brady Deaton and Karl Meilke in 2008 with his dissertation investigating The effects of strict agricultural zoning on farmland values: The case of Ontario’s Greenbelt. Richard then joined FARE as Assistant Professor in 2009 and was tenured and promoted to Associate Professor in 2015. During his academic career he has made significant and impactful contributions in research, teaching and service to academia and society. He has authored and co-authored 40 papers in academic journals on the economics of farm management practices and soil health, the economics of farmland values, as well as in marketing and demand analysis. However, Richard will stay connected with the FARE family, he has just been granted status of adjunct faculty with FARE. We wish him and his family all the best.
