FARE faculty making an impact

Mike von Massow, Associate Professor in FARE, was featured in a number of news items regarding the opening of the Longo's Food Retail Lab at the University of Guelph. Professor von Massow, who is the Research Director for the lab, was interviewed by a variety of news outlets, and the lab was featured on the university front page:

The lab will offer researchers a vehicle by which they can better understand how consumers respond to a variety of factors which might influence food choice.

On Thursday May 4, Alfons Weersink and Alan Ker testified in front of the House of Commons Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food. They were speaking about the effect of debt in the agricultural sector.  Ker is a Professor in FARE, Director of the Institute for the Advanced Study of Food and Agricultural Policy, and is the President of the Canadian Agricultural Economics Society. Weersink is a Professor in FARE whose expertise on farm-level issues has been featured in a variety of outlets including TVOs "The Agenda".
