Jacob Kerkhoff, M.Sc. student in the Food, Agricultural and Resource Economics department, spent two months at Wageningen University (the Netherlands) through the Erasmus Mundus International Exchange Program.
Jacob wrote a blog about his stay in Holland at http://observationcapsules.wordpress.com/.
He received several scholarships, including the Ontario International Education Opportunity Scholarship, to facilitate this exchange. While at Wageningen, Jacob studied the management of sustainable organic production chains. This training will be valuable for his thesis research which examines the spatial integration of the North American asparagus market. This research is supported by the Ontario Asparagus Growers Association. Maury Bredahl is his thesis advisor.
