Below is an overview of the types of cargo that can be shipped through marine, air and inland methods as well as their valuations, rates and deductibles should damage occur.

General Merchandise:
Valued at cost, insurance and freight plus 10% or as otherwise declared prior to shipment and agreed upon by underwriters.
Duty and/or taxes to be declared separately and insured for the amount payable, as required.
Rates:
Ocean: 0.15% on values declared
Air: 0.15% on values declared
Inland: (Canada and or Continental USA) 0.10% on values declared
Deductibles:
New goods: NIL
Used Goods: 1% of insured value, any one loss
Fragile/ Electronic/ Data Goods:
Valued at replacement cost and freight for goods under 3 years of age.
Actual cash value and freight for goods over 3 years of age.
Duty and/or taxes to be declared separately and insured for the amount payable, as required.
Rates:
Ocean: 0.185%
Air: 0.135%
Inland: 0.09%
Deductibles:
Subject to a deductible of 1% for loss due to breakage, minimum CDN $250 any one accident or occurrence.
Agricultural Goods:
Valued at cost, insurance and freight plus 10% or as otherwise declared prior to shipment and agreed upon by underwriters.
Duty and/or taxes to be declared separately and insured for the amount payable, as required.
Rates:
Ocean: 0.15%
Air: 0.15%
Inland: 0.10%
Deductible:
Subject to a deductible of 1% minimum CDN $250 any one accident or occurrence.
