Cultivated in Korea and India. Reported use as painkilling remedy, but because of its unclear effect, its use is not recommended. It has been used in the Algerian folk medicine against toothache. Capsules act against cardiac affections. Flowers and grains are calmative, slightly narcotic and expectorant. It is believed that the plant contains anti-cancer agents(1). |
