Cultivated in European part of USSR, Pakistan, India, China, Japan and the USA. Hyoscyamine, scopolamine (hyoscine) and several similar alkaloids are produced by many Hyoscyamus species. Previously the seeds were used in many places against toothache (inhalation of smoke) and as additive to beer (for increasing intoxication) (1). |
