Infusion of bark taken for colds and coughs. Astringent root bark used in a wash for old sores and ulcers. Used in steambath for indigestion, biliousness and jaundice. Warm infusion given when labor pains begin. Compound of barks added to corn whiskey and used to break out measles(*7)(3). |
