Experimentally grown in eastern Finland for the production of salicin from the bark and the leaves, used in phytotherapy as an analgetic. Employed for embankment stabilization, afforestation, as an ornamental and fodder plant for bees. The twigs also serve tanning, plaiting and binding purposes.(1) |
