Award Description

Funding for this award is provided by the Guelph Food Technology Centre (GFTC) Legacy Fund.  The award provides up to ten $7,500.00 awards per year to support graduate research in food production or food processing. 

The student will receive $5,000.00 in the form of a Graduate Research Assistantship. 

The remaining $2,500.00 will be held in trust by the faculty research advisor for research-related expenses or travel associated with the project or related conferences.

 

Award Guidelines

Awards are available to full or part-time students who are pursuing a graduate degree in Food Science or Food Safety & Quality Assurance with a research project that involves an industry partner.  

Selection criteria include the quality of the proposal and demonstration of the impact of the student’s work with industry on his/her university education. 

Preference will be given to students who have not previously received this award.
