Speaker: Jeanine Boulter-Bitzer, Microbial Food Safety Science Analyst, Food Inspection Branch, OMAFRA
Biography: Dr. Jeanine Boulter-Bitzer did her M.Sc. and her Ph.D. at the University of Guelph in the area of microbiology, parasitology and molecular biology. She also has a Professional Studies Degree in Food Safety Risk Assessment from the University of Maryland and recently completed a Master of Public Health focussing on Epidemiology, completing her practicum project with the Public Health Agency of Canada. She has worked at Laboratory Services/Agriculture and Food Lab, University of Guelph in the area of food and water microbiology testing and with the Ontario Clean Water Agency in water and wastewater treatment and training. At OMAFRA Jeanine has worked as a Research Analyst in the Research & Innovation Branch and currently works as the Microbial Analyst in the Food Safety Science Unit in the Food Inspection Branch of the Food Safety and Environment Division.
