Food Specialist for Guests with Dietary Restrictions:
To prepare the meals for each person/camper with a special diet and deliver them to the proper kitchen. This involves speaking with parents and campers to understand their needs, keeping track of all the special foods for each person.
Deciding how and what to feed each person for each meal, 3 meals a day. This position would have Saturday off, part of Sunday and part of another day off.
This person needs to have a keen interest in special diets and nutrition, either because they are studying in that field or they themselves are on a special diet. This person would be reading labels constantly, researching information about foods and diets. They need to be very focused, organized, clean, tidy, able to work under-pressure in fast pace environment. Food Handlers Certificate. Drivers license with good driving record.
This job would start the beginning of May and end September 3 (dates flexible). Compensation, Accommodations and Meals provided.
Looks after all food stock. Receives deliveries from suppliers 3 to 4 times a week, puts stock away, keeps inventory current, delivers food to each of our 4 kitchens daily. Keeps track of what is in each kitchen. Keeps track of the number of people each kitchen is feeding so that they can help with preparing the orders for restocking the warehouse and each kitchen. Answer the quonset phone and respond to each request. Good to have cooked in the kitchens so that they have an understanding of what the cooks will be doing, so that they can offer assistance/guidance when they deliver the food. Would have 1 day off durning week and part days on the weekend.
This person should have a Food Handlers Certificate. Drivers License with clean driving record. Be a detail oriented person, computer skills, mechanical aptitude, good listener and good phone manners. Kitchen experience as a cook and dishwasher helpful. Kitchen Manager and Cook:
In Spring months prepare meals for Staff and Guest Groups, clean, prepare and stock summer kitchens. In the Summer months look after the kitchens to keep all food supplies and equipment in proper location, assist with preparing meals by helping the head cook as needed and fill in for other staff's days off.
This person should enjoy cooking and preparing food, have a Food Handlers Certificate, be comfortable working in a commercial kitchen, have a drivers license, be a clean, tidy and organized person.
