There were four steps used in identifying a suitable area for an industrial park in the Halton Region. The first objective was to identify through the research of previous studies, appropriate geophysical and socioeconomic variables that contribute to the siting of the industrial park. The second objective was to develop a GIS model that uses the variables from objective one and is able to come up with a final best site. The third objective was to apply the created model to the study site of the Halton Region. The final objective was to examine the models strength and limitation, and to come up with solutions to the limitations.
