This section outlines in depth the methodology used in completing this project. First, the LiDAR dataset requirements for recording tillage were determined. Next, processes for identifying furrows from a Lidar dataset were explored within WhiteboxTools. Third, furrows were identified using a combination of techniques and remote-sensing algorithms. Lastly, the identification process was evaluated by validating the results and assessing the limitations of the process by testing against varying spatial data.
Objective 1: Determine the requirements for identifying furrows from LiDAR data.
