Advice for Prospective Grad Students...

A right step taken at a right time completely changes your identity. I won't say that your academic journey will be easy, but I am sure it will be worthy.

Engineering, PhD Water Resources Engineering

Why I Chose Guelph...

Research output and quality at the University of Guelph is very high, which I believe must be considered by students of a Graduate level. I myself am interested in dynamics of climate change and its impact on water resources. When I came to know about a project which was aligned with my interests, I did not have to think twice on selecting UofG.

About My Advisor...

My advisor has been very supportive towards me, not just academically but morally and emotionally as well.

About the City...

When I walk alone also, somebody will just smile and say "Hey there, Have a nice day". A gentle smile from a random stranger always cheers me up.

About the Campus...

You will find a lot of guidance here, from how to talk better to prepare your dissertation properly. And I think the location and weather of UofG (mostly during spring) are breathtaking.

How will my work Improve Life...

My research is based on best management practices which will improve water quality, retain agricultural yields and mitigate climate change. In all aspects, my research contributes towards the sustainable future for our upcoming generation. It feels good to be a part of something big, and knowing that my work/research will be contributing towards a stronger image of UofG makes me proud.

My Future Plans...

I plan to join either the academic sector or a research organisation, most probably from South Asia or Southeast Asia. Good exposure of research during my PhD in UofG will certainly help to establish me in either of these sectors.
