Virtual Networking Event

Date and Time

Details

The GSA is hosting a Virtual Networking Event on March 30th from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.

The event will start off with a keynote address from Dr. Kristopher Gies as he identifies some of the best strategies to effectively network.

Following this address, we will be separated into various 1-hour long sessions that each represent a different department. In each session, there will be a panel of UofG alumni that will be available to share their experience on transitioning from being a graduate student to entering the workforce. They will also be available to answer specific departmental questions and provide guidance on how to effectively network. Come prepared with questions like, What jobs am I qualified for postgrad? What is an appropriate starting salary? etc.

Additionally, there will be both a Ph.D. - Postdoc and Master - Ph.D. Mentorship sessions that include advice on the pros/cons of pursing a Ph.D. or a Post-Doc.
