The GSA Board of Directors passed a Motion at the December 9, 2020 Board Meeting, approving the Health Plan Referendum question and timeline for Winter 2021.

Only full-time graduate students are covered under the Health Plan, therefore only full-time graduate students may run a Yes/No campaign and vote on this question.

Full-time graduate students have the opportunity to run a 'yes' or 'no' campaign.  Please contact the GSA CRO (Chief Returning Officer), gsacro@uoguelph.ca to register a Campaign.

Dental Opt Out

The dental opt-out deadline for NEW ​Winter registrants is January 22, 2021. Please note, if you previously opted out of the dental plan, you must do so again this year. The one-time opt-out process of year's past will be available next year, AFTER data has been collected from this year's opt-out file.​

Please note, the health plan is a mandatory universal plan; the dental plan offers an opt-out with proof of alternate coverage.

Guelph Transit will continue to operate on the current, reduced schedule, which is the "Saturday" Schedule for Mondays-Saturdays, and the "Sunday Schedule" for Sundays and Holidays. All Extra and Express routes serving the University have been cancelled.

Welcome, new graduate students!

New graduate students arriving at the University of Guelph are usually invited to a live orientation event at the beginning of September.

Due to the pandemic, the Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies (OGPS) has moved the new graduate student orientation online, at gradorientation.uoguelph.ca.

As the University will be following a hybrid format for F20 (and the majority of classes will be offered online), the GSA submitted a proposal to City Council to temporarily suspend the U-Pass contract for F20 and W21, so that the many graduate students not physically returning to Guelph would not be burdened with a fee for a service that they will likely not be using.
