Reporting to the Administrative Officer, the part-time Administrative Support Clerk is primarily responsible for providing clerical and administrative support related to running the administrative office of the School. The School is comprised of 26 faculty members, approximately 900 undergraduate students and 60 graduate students.

Working as part of a team of administrative staff, the incumbent is expected to perform the following key duties within the School: taking and distributing meeting minutes; helping to maintain the electronic access system for the building; the distribution, collection and verification of various forms from students and faculty; assisting with the processing of expense claims; processing purchases and producing purchase orders; providing backup support to the Administrative Officer and the undergraduate and graduate program assistants during busy times and absences; providing general assistance to students, visitors, other faculty and staff as required; booking rooms and other support facilities as needed; completing special projects and assisting with events as they arise. Assisting the Academic Staff Hiring Committee with the hiring process of TA’s. Administration for the hiring of summer Undergraduate Research Assistants.

Requirements of the position include: Secondary School graduation (2-year community college program preferred) plus some related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The successful candidate must demonstrate a genuine interest in being client focused and possess a high level of discretion, diplomacy, tact, and judgment. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deal with frequent interruptions; ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team; strong attention to detail; analytical skills; working knowledge of an electronic office environment including being proficient using spreadsheets, word-processing software (MS Office mandatory) Adobe and iCloud. Familiarity with University systems and knowledge of University policies and procedures would be considered assets.

This appointment is regularly performed on- campus but will be initially fulfilled remotely (off-campus) until the University resumes its regular operations.

Hourly rate $21.33 - $23.82 per hour
