Hours of work: Two 12-hour shifts; Friday, 9:30 p.m. to Saturday 10:30 a.m., and Saturday, 9:30 p.m. to Sunday, 10:30 a.m. with two half-hour unpaid lunches per shift

Reporting to the Manager, Grounds Department, the Groundskeeper is responsible for the operation of a variety of minor machinery and related equipment used in the landscape and maintenance operation including: self-propelled snow blowers, etc., for snow and ice clearing operations; under supervision, the Groundkeeper shovels snow, performs general landscape work; keeps records; and performs other duties as assigned. During significant weather events, the Groundskeeper may be called in at other times.
Requirements of the position include: Grade 10 education (grade 12 preferred), and related experience. Driver’s license is required to drive a pick-up truck. Candidates must be able to repeatedly perform the range of physical functions required in this position, including during inclement weather.
Classification CUPE Band 2
0-3 month rate $21.68 per hour plus any applicable shift premium
Job Rate $22.82 per hour plus any applicable shift premium
Work Location Throughout the University’s main campus in Guelph
