Computing and Communications Services (CCS) is the central IT department at the University of Guelph, providing core IT services and technology solutions to the University community. This position reports to the CCS Director responsible for Enterprise Applications (EA). This position works closely with team members from Student Information Systems, Finance Systems, Human Resources Systems, Database and Systems Management, CCS Managers and CCS staff, Office of Registrarial Services, Office of Research Services, AVP Academic areas and all Colleges and departments within the University, its Colleges and remote campuses Guelph-Humber and Ridgetown.

Under the CCS Product Management Model, the Team Facilitator is accountable for assisting the Business Product Owners (BPO), the Technical Product Manager (TPM), and the delivery team in delivering technology solutions provided to its clients. Using the work management tool (Azure DevOps) the Team Facilitator assists the teams in adhering to their work goals, scope, and delivery of solutions by:

  • Facilitating the team’s participation in identifying, planning for, mitigating, and monitoring the risks
  • Facilitating discussions to coordinate the work
  • Administering the team’s internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information
  • Ensuring the removal of impediments by finding the right personnel to remove the impediment for the team’s success
  • Targeting the team’s success by maintain their work management tools
  • Facilitating and creating work improvement opportunities

Requirements for this position include:

  • A three (3) year Community College Diploma (undergraduate degree preferred) along with a few years of related experience.  An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Demonstrated experience in Azure DevOps and sprint metrics or similar, is essential.
  • Ability to work independently, yet integrate activities and collaborate effectively within a product/project team
  • A self-starter with effective organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to facilitate cross-team collaboration to understand business requirements and desired business outcomes
  • Knowledge of the University’s systems (Colleague, Webadvisor) and policies and procedures is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of Project Management and Scrum Master skills
  • Demonstrated experience developing and providing end-user training and support
