Electrical Safety Awareness (Unqualified Workers)

Year after year, accidental or unintended exposure to electricity ranks in the top five causes of workplace deaths. Unqualified workers (persons who have jobs that do not normally expose them to electrical hazards and do not have the appropriate training to work on or near exposed or unprotected energized electrical parts or systems) can be exposed to electrical hazards while performing daily activities and not fully appreciate the potential danger. It is important to understand and respect the potential hazards of electricity and know how to minimize the risk. This course provides an overview of legal responsibilities, common electrical hazards in the workplace, and safe work practices.

Target Audience: Unqualified workers and their supervisors.
