Mould Awareness in the Workplace

Workers or building occupants may come into contact with mould on water-damaged building materials inside buildings or during building maintenance and repair operations. This training course provides an overview of the potential hazards associated with common mould species found growing in indoor environments and the controls used to prevent and remediate mould contamination. Participants will gain an understanding of the following topics:

  • recognition of types of mould species found in indoor environments
  • health effects associated with mould
  • hazard identification and assessment of mount contaminated areas
  • prevention and remediation of mould contamination in the indoor environment
  • general procedures for mould removal
  • mould guidelines and standards

Target audience: Employees who may inadvertently come into contact with mould-contaminated building materials, and their supervisors.
