Details

“In ecology, we fit models to data in order to understand and predict system structure and function. These models are fundamental to our interpretation of the relationships among multiple environmental parameters. Dr. Fedy is an ecologist from the University of Waterloo who uses multiple modelling approaches to address questions in wildlife population distributions, abundance, and genetics. In his talk, Dr. Fedy will draw on long-term research across a diversity of avian systems to demonstrate the process of developing model complexity to increase our understanding and insights into natural systems. The research presented will cover multiple avian taxa (passerines, grouse, waterfowl, and raptors) from field sites across North America.”
