On behalf of the seminar committee, we wish to congratulate Wendy Van Drunen as the recipient of the 2017-2018 IB Distinguished Graduate Student Speaker Award. We had five highly competitive applicants in total, all of who would have given great talks and were worthy.

Please note that the date of Wendy's seminar is Tuesday, April 17th and will take place at 3:30 pm in SSC 2315.

Wendy is a PhD candidate working on issues of plant evolutionary biology in the lab of Brian Husband. Her research project started in 2013, targets the association between clonal reproduction and polyploidy in the angiosperms. She has held several National and Provincial funding awards, and has published several papers from her PhD, and her MSc research at Trent University (a partial list is given below). More details on her research can be found here: www.uoguelph.ca/~bhusband/Lab%20website/people/wendy-van-drunen.html
