Prostaglandins are a class of lipid compounds with a diverse set of physiological functions, including involvement in ovulation. Using zebrafish as a model organism, I am investigating the nature of the role of prostaglandin PGE2 in ovulation by examining the effects of PGE2 on downstream gene targets as well as examining receptor expression and response to inhibition of PGE2 function.
