Protecting Public Health
#UofG is at the forefront of protecting public health. Insect-borne diseases are on the rise and the number of people infected has more than tripled in Canada. Due to events such as global warming, there is an increase in Lyme disease, and because many are not aware of mitigation strategies, there is an increasing public health threat.
Improving Life by protecting public health against insect-borne diseases.
At the G. Magnotta Lyme Disease Research Lab, University of Guelph researchers are dedicated to helping clinicians improve diagnosis and treatment of this emerging disease.
